Ratan Tata, an Indian corporate magnate and philanthropist, will turn 85 on Wednesday, December 28. He is currently the Chairman Emeritus of Tata Sons. He has 118 lakh Twitter followers, making him one of the most well-liked business people not just in India but around the world.
According to the IIFL Wealth Hurun India Rich List 2022, Ratan Tata is the Indian industrialist who is most followed on social media, and this year, his Twitter following climbed by 18 lakhs.
Ratan Tata is highly recognised for his business empire and is renowned for his strong work ethic, although his name does not appear on the list of the richest people in the nation.
The majority of Ratan Tata’s 3800 crore rupee net worth comes from Tata Sons. According to the IIFL Wealth Hurun India Rich List 2022, he was the 421st richest Indian. He was ranked at position 433 and had a net worth of Rs. 3,500 crore in 2021.
This is mostly due to the fact that Tata Trusts donate 66% of the profit made by the Tata firms under the holding company Tata Sons towards charitable causes.
The Tata Group has been involved in industries ranging from IT to salt. According to the company’s official website, there are 29 publicly traded Tata companies, with a total market value of $311 billion (Rs 23.6 trillion) as of March 31, 2022.
Since his great-grandfather Jamshetji Tata began these charitable endeavours more than 50 years ago, Ratan Tata and his family have been involved. According to the group’s official website, the combined revenue of all Tata firms in 2021–22 was $128 billion (about Rs 9.6 trillion), with a total workforce of more than 935,000 people.
