The chairman of the Adani Group, Gautam Adani, doubled his wealth this year to $150 billion, making him the richest Indian in 2022. With a net worth of $88 billion, down from $92.7 billion the previous year, Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries Ltd., who had held the top slot since 2013, is ranked second on the list.
There have been several changes to the list’s top 10 positions. With $16.4 billion, Savitri Jindal and her family have risen to position 6. The Bajaj family (No. 10, $14.6 billion), Dilip Shanghvi and family (No. 7, $15.5 billion), and Hinduja Brothers (No. 8, $15.2 billion) have joined the Top-10 club. Uday Kotak, CEO of Kotak Mahindra Bank, was ranked No. 8 last year and is currently ranked No. 12 ($14.3 billion).
