CEO and MD Rajesh Gopinathan has left his position at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) after 22 years of service. With effect from March 16, K Krithivasan, who is currently TCS’s President and Global Head of the company’s BFSI Business Group, has been chosen as the new CEO. Gopinathan will continue working for TCS until September 2023 in order to help with the transition, and Krithivasan has been a TCS employee for over 34 years.

Krithivasan will undergo a transitional period before officially becoming the CEO in the next fiscal year. Gopinathan expressed satisfaction with his time at TCS and mentioned that he enjoyed working with TCS Chairman N Chandrasekaran, who mentored him throughout his tenure. During Gopinathan’s six years as CEO, he increased TCS’s market capitalization by more than $70 billion and added over $10 billion in incremental revenue. Following his departure, Gopinathan plans to pursue his interests.
